Thanks, it is all the same; can also take and move just B, by reacing under A, grabbing B and bringing under A, over A and C; then reeving thru A and C. But, all center loop evenly pulled by crossed turns from either side. In trying to show people over years how to tie, and learning to tie 'blindly' and behind back i always thought that jumping A then B to far end seemed easiest. All what ya learn and like though!
Tried several times to animate DBY maid by slip knot method (easier for this Double Bowline, and the other multiple choke Bowline, the Water Bowline, that repalces the Round Turn of DBY with a Clove); also kinda half way makes self; with a lil'pull or from pull of it's own weight in a climbing scenario. i first saw it in a book; listed as a climber's bowline(the method was different, same bowline though), for tying a bowline around self if lowered from overhead ledge or helicopter; if climber got stuck on side of mountain etc. Can be made half way, even hung on thumb or hook to quickly finish in a second. So, i took it and applied it to DBY.
Am working on Anchor Hitch to self to form eye or Double/Triple Scaffold/ Noose/ FisherPerson's. i like my turns uncrossed, but most seem to like crossed?
Generically we call all these things knots; more properly a knot is to own self, a bend is to another line as extension (or a friction hitch would be a bend, without my 'extension clause'); and a hitch is to another item (used to say non-rope item; until saw friction hitches). i think more properly they are all hitches generically; to self, to extend a line or to another item that is why hitches are listed last as catch all for if not to self, or to another line to extend it.
Any requests for future reverance?
