Butterfly II or Tree Austria Glide??

I need help - as a tree junkie I bought the saddle x after the show in Detroit. For years i've used a saddle from CFE which has the bosun seat. After watching the guys fly around at the show I thought I'd try a different saddle. Wish I had found this site before I plunged. I guess I tend to sit alot in the work we do and after a few tries with saddle x its back in the box - its probably me but I just wasn't comfortable in it don't know whether it got a fair shake or not. I liked how light it was compared to my old saddle. Well now I see the Butterfly II and the Tree Austria have optional bosun seats that are quick to change in and out and I want this option in the new saddle.( don't know if the glide has this). I use DRT with a pantene and blue hand ascender , Schwabisch and pulley - over fifty now and finding them has been a godsend compared to body thrusting. So no racing around in the tree for me. Looking for light weight and comfort , spot for my 200T and a zubat and a couple of biners. Where I live its not like I can go and look at these new saddles and try them on. This is catalogue shopping south of the border. Have read some of the previous postings on the Tree Magic and Butterfly but still don't feel comfortable enough to take another plunge just yet. All input greatly appreciated. Got to love this site!!

The BF II becomes the Dragonfly when you put the seat on. the changeover is pretty quick, less than five minutes the three times that I've done it. With more practice it would probably be quicker. The Dragonfly is comfortable but I don't spend much time sitting in the saddle so I use the BF II configuration.

Ive got the Tree Austria and dont have the bosun seat. I, like Tom, dont spend much time 'sitting' and therefore the seat would not be of benefit.

However, to answer your question, this is a very comfortable saddle and the seat clips on and off in seconds. It has the same clip for the seat as the waist belt. The leg straps stay on the saddle w/ the seat. The side D's are not small but not large either, kind of medium size. there is a snap on each side and 2 gear loops in the back.

Hope this info helps your decision.

well sir i never heard of the austria glide but from what i heard and experienced the BF2 is and exelent choice as a matter of fact i just ordered one the otherday but if u dont like the saddle as it comes then all u need to do is order the seat for it and then like magic it becomes the dragon fly
