BUGZ - One Step Closer To ANSI Approval

I met with the folks down as TCIA yesterday and presented our case as to why we feel that the BUGZ Googgles should be allowed in treework under the PPE section OF THE ANSI documentation.

They agreed, and we looked at rewording and some portions of the Z87 and Z133 (in regards to eye protection) that will allow us to have a little more flexibility in the section of our eye protection.

I will be working with the BUGZ manufacturer to see if we can get their background specs on their testing and their backing to move forward with the ANSI work.

Any feedback that you guys can give me (both positive and negative) on your opinions and experiences with using BUGZ versus conventional safety glasses would be greatly appreciated, so I can get a package together with TCIA before the next 2011 ANZI meeting.

Thanks
Chris

Any pictures that you guys have of wearing BUGZ while doing tree work, I would love to see them so I can include them in the package.

No one's name will be mentioned unless they want it to be.

Bug eyes are the only safety glasses I can wear that don't fog up period!

And if a product doesn't work, it won't get used.

If it wasn't for my bugz, I'd be back to wearing nothing again, see?

The next ANSI [I hope that 'ANZI' was a typo not a jab, :) ] is on 4/28 in Baltimore. Even if you're not a voting member everyone is welcome to attend.

Tom, that was definitely a typo. I am not one that gives jabs to something as important as our ANSI Regulations.

Sorry about that.

I would love to attend the next meeting, but can't make it. I'll be working with Peter and Bob on our questions and proposal and we'll give it to TCIA's voting member when we're ready.
