Bridge replacement by the foot?

This has probably been asked a thousand times before.

Looking for recommendations for bridge replacement by the foot? I have the onyx saddle. Treestuff does not carry the teufelberger platinum 10.5 mm the onyx comes with and they wouldn’t make a recommendation for a substitute. I was able to fit beeline to double up the bridge so I’ll probably order 15 feet or so of that as well.

Wesspur has the 10.5mm Platinum in stock and by the foot.

Beeline is not recommended for bridges.
Wouldn’t it be safer to have beeline as an additional bridge than just having a single bridge? I have the rings around both.

I just replaced mine with the new 11mm 16 strand (Samson) sold at Wesspur. I flipped the rigging plates and have two bridges, one adjustable and one fixed, my primary attachment ring goes through both, I will ascend using the adjustable.

MB harnesses used to ship (and probably still do) with a 16 strand Arbormaster bridge standard. It's been bomber over the years. Easy to inspect and easy to replace and seems to wear well. It's one of the things I really didn't like about other harnesses like the Sequoia - having to buy their branded sewn bridge replacements.
The arbormaster is readily available at most suppliers but it's also conveniently available in bridge length at August's site.

As for sequoia, their bridges are tidy, but when I changed mine on my sequoia I just tied up my own on their rings. The anchor hitches are a little bulky but don't interfere with using the lower Dees.

I’ll probably just go with the samson 16 strand. Good enough for the MB saddle good enough for me. Thanks!

@evo care to elaborate(or display)on your above comment? I thought the construction of double braided ropes the load is shared between jacket and core…. How do you only have core where the stopper knots are, and nothing in between? I feel like an ignoramus asking….. but I can’t wrap my head around this conceptually…

Yes, 16 strand is cover dependent, and will nearly flatten out like webbing (really thick narrow webbing) with out the core.
So tie your barrel knots in the end, extract the core in the middle of the bridge, just enough to cut it. Milk it back in, next extract the core about 1-2" inward from the barrel knot, pull it all out, and cut. Milk the tails back into the line (tapered if you can). Repeat on the other side...
Whip or lock stitch of you are going to tie and untie the knots.
