Is there any foliar spray alternative to imidacloprid and other such products for boxwood leaf miner?

I was on a property with endless mazes of huge boxwoods and wish there was a more eco friendly option. Soil injection is out of the question, there are hundreds of boxwoods.

Anyway, I don't think there is, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I don't think there are any real eco friendly treatments for boxwoods. At least I haven't come across any.

I was looking into this earlier this year in preparation for 2011 treatments. It's a good idea to alternate the chemical you use and it is on the label for imidicloprid products to not use that class of chemical repeatedly. Imidicloprid and Safari are in the same class.

I put together this guide for boxwoods and I am working on guides for other treatments that our company regularly does. My hope is to have it so simple and easy to know what to use and how to use it.

Im an eco-friendly guy and Azatrol will work, Soil, Foliar. It has translaminant properties.

Others would be Abamectin (Avid). Check out Quali-pro.com for generic products.

In the past, I would do avid (spring) and safari (spring) foliars and monitor for adults and hit them with an oil or other contact.

Good luck.
