Border checkpoint from Sandiego to Phoenix

Though I had nothing to fear, I must say this checkpoint I recently drove through was quite intimidating.
Reminiscent of Germany during the 40's.
The K9s were literally allowed to stick there heads inside EVERY car that passes through this area.
I'm all in favor of securing our borders but I thought this was on the edge of violating constitutional rights.

That checkpoint has has nothing to do with securing borders, and has everything to do with the erosion of hard fought for civil liberties - check this out to see whats REALLY going on in the world today -

We are screwed.

I just bought a nice living room set. I hope it gets here before I have to get microchipped.

Got 6 months no interest financing on it too.

Booya.

guess it is easier to hang out at a nice spot with shade and water than it is to actually patrol the areas where illegals are coming through.

If you wanna bring people or illegal cargo through, just load it on a mexican big rig.
Nafta lets them barrell on through

Yeah, damn skippy. We're winning and we're number one. The best, richest, most educated and powerful, master of the world and in control of all (he he).

I'd still bet ten on the Taliban.

Oakwilt, I get that you think this country is headed on the wrong track, but making bets that the Taliban will triumph is a bet you shouldn't make.

The Taliban threatens everyday Americans as much as falling meteorites from the sky. The Taliban is as much of a real threat as the public is told they are.

Other than that, they are a bunch of pissed off Arabs who just want us to leave them the F alone.

That's certainly true right now. Who knows in what condition we'd be had all of the Patriot Act stuff not been done. It's not all good, but it has certainly done a good job.

Unfortunately, this isn't true for the broader category of radical militant Islamists. They will (and have) go to great lengths to convert or kill infidels - anywhere.

The Taliban are a bunch of murderous religious fanatics, period. In kind they exist in all cultures and nations.

I'm just placing a bet on who will triumph in Afghanistan, much like it became obvious the insurgents and others have moved closer to victory in Iraq.

In '69 it was obvious who the victors would be in Vietnam. There's two ways of looking at war - from the slanted viewpoint of the leaders, or the more realistic one from the headcases still not appropriately treated in V.A. hospitals.

Remember Jessica Lynch and Pat Tillman...I still refuse to forget Gulf of Tonkin or My Lei.
