I wear asolo fugitives. Most of the time I don't feel my spur on the bottom of my foot or the strap that goes around the back. They hold up pretty good even with hard use on the ground. I wear those and sassalongs not sure ill try another boot for a while. like em foot locking too

I used to wear asolos a lot but my feet always were sore afterwards.

I have been wearing kaylands the last 2 years they are awesome, light, and easily broken in.

Hoping to try some arbor pros sometime.

I like the Salewa boots. The Mountain trainer that treestuff stocks looks similar to the boots swingdude mentioned but there may be some advantages to those that I am not aware of.

I wore Asolos for years before switching to Salewas, which I found to be far superior in construction. Spending hours on gaffs with Asolo boots will definitely require purchasing a beefier insole. I was using these:

Salewas require no additional insole.

If you footlock often, I would recommend going with a boot that has no metal lace hooks. They will break quickly.

yeah Tenna, I have both... the Rapace are way more rigid cause they are meant for crampon use... this really makes the difference in spurs, plus they have a nice soft leather material for the upper.. the mountain GTX are great for an all round boot if your time in hooks is limited though I find them not bad... there is an easy fix for the lace hooks too.. Ian ( simplyarbor has pics of that )....these boots are simply put badazz...

Ian if your feet feel fine in them GTX's then they will feel GREAT in the Rapace...Luke will be carrying them next year....they are way stiffer...
