Boots and Rope

Hello everyone, i am new to the board. I am getting a new climbing line and wanted some opinions. I was wondering if anyone has used the lava rope. I have been using blue streak but i want to shed some lbs. of rope weight. The specs on the lava looked good(5.8lbs per 100 ft., 6800lbs tensile Strength) But it is not only polyester it is a polyester/nylon blend. Nylon stretches more and isnt as abrasive resistant as poly. I just want to make a good choice. Also wondering what would be a good pair of boots to climb in w/out spikes (footlock ascent). Thanks

I have lava and feel like it has worn out a little to fast. Other than that I like it.

That's odd. I have an orange Tachyon, and the blue Lava, and the Lava seems to retain it's original "sheen" more than the orange Tachyon.

I like the way the orange Tachyon has gotten "fuzzy" and soft.

If you are going to buy a new line, I don't think you can get better than Tachyon.

I have gotten some cut strands near my eye. Going to have to cut about three ft off next time I climb on it. It also fuzzed up pretty heavy in certain spots and not in others. I think I have been a little harder on this line than some of my others. Just started using a FS more and this is helping.
