BOOTS - aka - Slipper for the Climbing Princess\'s

Hello - I DID IT - my Merrills are about shot, yet so comfortable and form fitted to my feet, but still shot - NOT yet falling apart, but worn.

SO - it was off to REI to see what they had in the way of hikers.

I had spotted some Keens and talked to the hiker DUDE at the AT store on Blood Mountain and he recommended those, then I talked to the REI hiker DUDE and he did not recommend.. SO thinking - I spotted a pair of Asolo, I try on two different styles, walked about the store for 30-45 minutes with one shoe from each style on, shopping and building a wish list of gear and walked out with the Asolo Fugitives and tree pair of Smartwool socks.

BUT here is my question, I found that the lady's boots were to narrow - i wear a 10D womens and the just did not fit. SO I ended up with a 9.5 narrow cut and they fit well. (most of my everyday shoes are mens)

So - do you find women's cut boot or a men's cut boot better fitting?

jz - NEW BOOTS on my footzies

Handsome men's boots worn by a girl (my girl dog Sassy). She will do anything to get attention

Interesting--I am a man with narrow feet, so I have to hunt down women's size 11 for a good fit. Only a few brands get that large. My last few work boots have been REI brand.

I use my Hi Tec hikers when climbing with just a handsaw.
Chainsaw work, usually means bigger trees so I climb in my chainsaw boots, SIP brown leather, they have nice sturdy soles, good for jamming in a fork and my feet don't get squished. Sometimes the saw is near the feet...nice to have a line of defence there.
