Blake's hitch

Re: Blake\'s hitch

I don't know what idiot qualified the proctor, but he's doing a grand job of making the ISA-certs-are-useless argument gain validity.

Knot, a Blake's should have a stopper anyways.

Thanks NE. Any advice is much appreciated.

Some of the first tree dudes I worked with (whom I learned suislide from) didn't backup ANY hitch! but they also lowered stuff off of rope loops with no block or Krab...I'm glad that's in the past.

Over the years I've tried a bunch of different knots and styles but always end up coming back to the basics. Just was climbin a couple days ago on the prussic I learned last week, pretty ok knot.

I'm glad the few Times I used the suislide I never fell!

I guess I just always hope the mistakes I make don't end up cratering me.

i'm sure you already have the answer you're looking for but for what it's worth, i have seen it tied your way as well, with my lefty friends. i myself am a righty so mine always looks like the bottom photo, however ive seen yours work just the same.
