Just a few photos from todays' cold, sometimes gusty day. Had a chance to use the balancers I made from some tennex. Nothing fancy, but it worked great and allowed me to take much longer pieces. If I butt tied them they would have hit the roof of the brick house to the rear, ad a few would have hit yellow house. Threw in a view from near the top of the tree.

All the logs 8" and over are sold to a guy who does ship rebuilding and trim work with it. NO rot. I left the " spar " the way it was with the large crotch limbs because he comes and shows me where he wants everyting cut for his needs. t's a little more complex because I have to plan everything out more than normal as to maximize his wood, and my profit. I'm getting the majority of pay from this job through these sales. I have 6 other Black walnuts to take down that have beccause the homewoner is tired of cleaning up after the branches that are always falling from them, the squirrels, and the huge Walnuts he gets. Wood has great color, and smells great cutting it. Just wish it wasn't so damn cold, thanks for comments.

Just noticed photos are missing, don't know why??? I didn;t change anything/ Finished it up today, had to rig the heaviest piece I ever have had to do. roughly a 1500# section on 5/8" polydyne, went great finishing that tree off today.

Check your photobucket.... I'd like to see the photos. I recently milled up some black walnut with a friend's portable mill. Got some nice thick slabs for a couple rifle stocks. Might just get a mill myself after seeing the end product.
