biners on rope bridge

Josh I don't know about being acceptable but I have changed out the webbing of my sequoia numerous times for a rope bridge made of safety blue tied with double fisherman's on gold rings. I have attached my hitchclimber straight on and did not feel comfortable, tried running pinto pulley for better bend radius and eventually gave that up. I am back using the petzl webbing bridges which I really do prefer, to each his own. I ride a large Rock exotica swivel with two SMC rings one on either side of the swivel for added lines. I frequently double crotch with two separate lines, my main and then a shorter one which I use to ascend new leaders which are difficult with my main TIP. To cut the chase I love rings but my swivel is da bomb. My advice FWIIW is go with the new DMM rings from Wesspur. Get the 34mm so you can add two setups as in double crotching or even using your landyard as a second climbing line. Hope this makes sense. Look at a pic of my setup a bit of an overkill but the SMC rings are small, and I never liked using my second hitchclimber in the third "center hole" like the manufacturer suggested. Just my 2 cents dude. Paul.

My rope bridge has caribiners attached to it all the time, no problem at all. I personally don't think the rope on my bridge knows the difference between a ring and a biner, maybe I will ask it sometime.....

Seriously though, I use a hitch climber most of the time, so when I clip directly to the bridge it orients the outfeed of the pulley to the right, so I can tend slack off to the right....

That's why I like the swivel because I can tend slack with either hand depending on my position, i can just rotate the swivel and tend slack, options increase IMO. Preference I always say but boy have I gotten new ideas on the buzz, I just decided to post some stuff as I wanted to meet new climbers and get one on one input. I still attach the hitchclimber to my bridge if I need to footlock the tail as it brings the system closer to me for better advance.
