I have some.

Was there a climber in the tree when the log was tripped?
If not, how was the log tripped? Tagline?

Thanks in advance.

Look closely at the beginning of the vid. It's a black tag line. You can see a branch from an adjacent tree move from the pull of it.

The stunt seems to be a gimmick.

Why were there so many wraps on the adjacent trees?
Did you want the rope to part?
Where did the rope part?

As we did not want to risk not incorporating enough friction and having a person try to control it we basically locked the rope at a distance away to put plenty of rope in the system.
It would have been great if the rope did not break but it was always the most likley outcome.
The rope broke at bend over the shackle with no evidence of melting.
As far as a climber in the tree when it was tipped, of course not. We used a small scarf and a fat hinge to ensure it would not fell before we were ready. a vehicle was then used to break it off.

Yea, that anchor tree was rockin on its root plate big time!

But it sure looked to me as if the rope parted at the shackle, which I'm guessing got real hot, real quick.

I'd guess bend ratio cut it like a knife, more so than the shackle got hot and melted the poor rope..

They did side load the lowering line didn't they...
one of them said they didn't in reply on youtube...
Did I miss something?

the heavy sideways movement was caused by the angle the timber was moving away from the tree at.

The fact they had run the lowering line onto an nearby tree probably didn't make that much difference in the whole scheme of things but I get what your saying.

I would have liked to get everyones opinions prior to the log being toppled, it is very easy to watch the outcome and assume you would have predicted it.....

.......Just for the record it was not luck that stopped any persons being hurt or killed, we have been in the game a long time.
I will be happy to answer any questions.
Here is a better shot of the size of the log.

You have great composure and patience with the viewers or partial viewers that keep taking things out of context and pretty much have idiotic comments.

It was a cool video and thank you for taking the time to do it.

Please stick around on the buzz and visit again.
