I don't believe there has ever been on tree on earth ever, that compares to the masterpiece of the human body and mind.

Yes, but its just your belief, and your belief is not mine, I believe that trees are intelligent sentient beings that have the ability to communicate with each other through high pitched squeaks .

So in other words, sort of like evolutionary decendents of whales or bats.

It's just that whales are larger, so that might be a closer connection.

Look back only 6-700 years ago and study how humans perceived the world and universe. When was it accepted that the earth revolves around the sun? When did we get our first look at single cells? Not too long ago.

Human understanding of the world changes as science asks or solves questions. Communication may not have to be manifested in language and action like humans. Animals are known to communicate through auditory and visual means. Bees communicate by doing a dance. Who's to say that someday we'll be able to listen to what plants are saying? Listening may not be auditory either.

At more than one Shigo session he asked about plant communication. There were things happening that he saw that didn't fit with physical, chemical or electrical responses like we know. Could they be a form of communication?

What if humans are only one organ of a complex organism called Earth?

Some can suppose ...

The attempt to consider new ideas is often introduced with a question "What if"

One of the first questions ever recorded was "Yea, hath God, said" ...

An old challenge to consider the other side.

Either way, I still enjoy these old ancient trees. Funny thing, as much as the logging stripped many areas of land, I still like the old logging books and photos. Is that odd - others like those photos too?
