Any post from them usually is. LOLTerrible writing from NY post
Seems crazy to me that any landscaper/tree service would “hop a fence” (as stated in the article) to cut trees that were clearly across the property line![]()
NJ homeowner cut down 32 of his neighbor’s trees — it could cost him over $1.5M
Grant Haber, of Kinnelon, chopped down 32 of his neighbor’s trees along a hilltop with Manhattan skyline views in a tony New Jersey town — and he could now be forced to fork over more than $1…nypost.com
Terrible writing from NY post but interesting story.
I've seen fences within property lines. To keep animals in/out. Article wasn't clear about property lines, unless I read over that .....Seems crazy to me that any landscaper/tree service would “hop a fence” (as stated in the article) to cut trees that were clearly across the property line
1) This was probably "Pickup" Bob and his band of merry men.Seems crazy to me that any landscaper/tree service would “hop a fence” (as stated in the article) to cut trees that were clearly across the property line
We had some here intentionally cut a bunch of trees on state park land for someone's view.Seems crazy to me that any landscaper/tree service would “hop a fence” (as stated in the article) to cut trees that were clearly across the property line
“The tree cutters had climbed a fence clearly marking his property line”I've seen fences within property lines. To keep animals in/out. Article wasn't clear about property lines, unless I read over that .....
I take reports from the post with a grain of salt.“The tree cutters had climbed a fence clearly marking his property line”
Of course to be fair that’s just how they reported it. Should probably give them the benefit of the doubt that they were told the trees were on the property of the guy that hired them.
And some people wonder why we still have war and murder in our civilized society.Neighbor cut a swath to have a view of small lake.
@Mark Chisholm - Already posted yesterday.![]()

On a positive note, I was in a local saw shop yesterday grabbing provision and on a computer screen by the checkout desk was a very large picture of Mr. Chisholm's handsome mug. made me chuckle...@Mark Chisholm - Already posted yesterday.![]()
Reading that makes me chuckle a little. I've heard reports of neighbors wanting to sue landowners who do a timber harvest on their land because it ruined their view of the forest. So as a landowner I could get sued if I do cut my trees or sued if I don't....it's all about what my neighbor wants...and one neighbor probably want them cut while the other wants them to stay.I’m glad I waited till the morning to mention this story… lol
Fancy mountaintop development, rich retired lawyer in his mid 80s is suing his neighbors for the right to cut down trees on their property. And folks, this guy has an insane view. Like, the trees are way way low. You can see the entire city of Asheville and the mountain range beyond already.
Fumed about that one for a while but I can’t see that ever succeeding.
Just such a waste of the courts time.
I’ve got onX, seems inaccurate, i look at my property line going through my neighbors cargo containers 20’ from the fence line and wonder who’s right here? Another neighbor who’s family once owned the entire area told me the corner marker was buried in the street. OnX shows the corner 40’ out into the cow pasture. Have you noticed any discrepancies like this?I feel it's pretty the contractor getting sued as well is pretty reasonable, if you're hoping over a fence to do the work it's not that hard to check onX or whatever property line/ownership app you use. OnX is great and pretty reasonable too plus a handy tax write off for your non work related adventures.
