best soil sampling in north east

Im shopping around for a new soil sampling lab. My local University has been dropping the ball lately. I live in SE Pennsylvania. Any help would be much appreciated.

Umass Amhearst has a decent lab for pathology, would imagine they have a good soils lab too.

University of vermont does all my soil tests but I'm not sure how they would deal with out of state samples. Last I knew cost was $14/sample tested. They give a good report of the assay plus recommended amendments. try this link: http://www.uvm.edu/pss/ag_testing/?Page=soils.html

John Deere Landscapes does a great job. They're cheap - $16 for a standard sample and the have quick turnaround. Penn State does it too but I prefer to use private labs.

I use prescription soil analysis. This test is much more comprehensive than my local university. The test cost more usually $40.00

@arborvor: If you are using Prescription Soil Analysis, are you also using Nature's Pro (the other company owned by Keith) products? If so, have they been working well?

UMass Amherst is good for soil testing.

I have since switched to Logan Laboratories. They work together with Earth Works Organics to write recommendations. We have had really good service thus far.

I used to send soil samples to CLC Labs in Ohio. Then I thought, how silly to send them that far when I can send to the soil lab at the U of Minnesota. So I tried that. But now I'm sending them to Ohio again. They have soil sample bags to keep in your vehicle, a clear and easy to follow format for submitting, a very thorough spec sheet, fast turn around and I think it's 45 bucks or so, depending on how many tests you request.
