Best power pole saw that isnt a Stihl?

Echo has a two year commercial warranty and 5 years homeowner warranty. Echo offers a 4 foot extension for there telescoping pole saws allowing cuts at 20 ft and I have an echo for this reason. This combination is invaluable for the municipal ROW work I do without a bucket . Stihl only offers a 90 day commercial warranty. My guys prefer the stihl 133 but only after we put a bar and chain from a 190 series on it. Also if you put a 7 point sprocket on the stihls will run out of bar oil before fuel. I only have a few echo pieces but I have no complaints except the limited dealer network. My guys initially preferred the echo over the 131 models until a 133 stihl showed up and we put a man size chain on it. Now there first choice is 133 unless we need the extra reach of the echo with extension. FYI I have guys that will burn a tank of fuel before putting down the 133 but that echo with extension is only brought out for individual cuts and promptly hidden so our customers cant ask for more. My guys may have been informed if they leak its existence to a customer the rest of the crew may extinguish something in there sole. None the less and invaluable capability to have when you need it.. It seems to be just as good as anything else just a tad heavier and not as well balanced as the 133 for extensive use. If you are focused on PHC the 133 with the 1/4 in chain does make for smooth cuts. I have no experience with husky or others. FYI echo specs a much higher grade of oil based on JASO standards.

Thank you for this!

I forgot to mention that my guys like the rigidity of the pole on the 133 better and the Echo doesn't flop around either the way my older 131 models did. The echo has much better fuel and oil caps the my Stihl saws. You probably already know that the Stihl caps collect dirt that is not easily cleaned. It then falls into the tanks when you open them. Basically the caps and tanks funnel dirt in. It is an utterly foolish and incompetent design by stihl. If I or my guys ever meet the engineers that designed those caps we might need a bail bondsman. Our hatrid for those caps can not be over stated. I have had to disassemble and clean the oil tank and oiling mechanism on the stihls regurly because of this. Even with compressed air to clean around the caps the amount of debris that finds its way into the tanks is mindboggling compared to the echo models. If echo could match the weight and balance of stihl 133 I would quit buying stihl pole saws forever.

A past employer had the Echo one. I loved it. Plenty of power and the handle was really comfortable and probably more ergonomically friendly than the ones that have you grip the shaft instead of an attached handle.

I really like the echo ppt-2620 I have. I agree that the top handle is more comfortable to run than the other version. I will say this though my makita battery pole pruner has stolen a lot of run time from the echo.

Depends on how many batteries you've got lined up. I've only been running the husky battery tools for a few months, but it seems like they don't mind stuff less than 5" diameter. Lots of cutting bigger than 6+" seems to run the battery down way faster. But I don't find myself cutting stuff that big very often with a pole saw
