Best laserpointer for treework?

Bought one through dherrill/treestuff 6 or 7 years ago and it works great then lost it got the next version from treestuff about 4 years ago and it sucks. Not real bright and chews through batteries. Then i found my lost one in a chair cushion. Happy again!

Do you know the brand name and model?

Green laser points are by far the easiest / best.
Unfortunately, due to some very stupid people pointing them at airplanes, etc.
Current US law only allow a max. of 5 mW !

I have bought some of these recently, and so far the combination of price, performance, and charging versatility has been good:

Curious to see how they fare in six months. Also have had a Sherrill pointer for years, and its power has definitely waned over time. It also sometimes decides to go on break without asking anyone.

That link does not work for me ?

Even 5mw can cause retina burns.... be really careful with these. Higher than 5mw mandates laser glasses that filter the wavelength to be safe.

If want get creative just find a large older laser printer and get a tech to makeshift a class iv laser (ultra illegal due to risk of starting bushfires miles away, and blinding eyes that cross its path). But will inscribe bark wherever you want to identify marks (just be careful not to light the tree up...
