Best eye-to-eye sling brand for a VT?

I run 8mm Ocean. My advice would be to buy it by the foot and tie a hitch, that way you can adjust the length if need be.

BBBtree, im using 12.7mm samson vortex rope...30" 10mm ocean VT does not lock up like the 8mm did....pick up an 10mm eye to eye and see if that works for ya....some people like it some dont, theres many factors in chosing the right hitch cord, and trying different ones is the key.

if you run 10mm beeline on 11.7, it just about self tails all the time if you're coming back from a limb walk, and releases fast, there is a fair amount of sit back if you don't push it up though. I prefer smoothness to zero sitback, but that's just me

Okay, I get the idea about how 8mm and 10mm is going to work on my rope Tachyon rope.

Does anyone climb with his VT system rigged immediately by the saddle?

I like the looks of a VT system I've seen lately where the VT and pulley are at arms length with a about a 30" sling connecting them to the saddle. This kind of system doesn't have any kind of pulley to tend the tail. I kind of wonder if anyone can even picture that set up without seeing a pic or a vid.

The hitch hiker/VT set up on an SRT is a good one too.

The sling is not really necessary if you want the hitch farther away, you can run an "O" system. I have never used it but it looks pretty simple, there is a video on youtube showing it but I can't seem to find it right now.
Maybe someone else can chime in.

There are easier ways, petzl pantin foot ascender or have your groundy pull you up!

Hitchclimber on tachyon with 8mm ocean polyester is a great combo, I make alot of 800mm ones(31.4inches)

I like that system with a small loop sling girth hitched to the hitch hiker and over the left hand. Every time the left hand reaches up, the hitch hiker is pulled up in the same motion. It's a must have system in my opinion.
