best buzz

just wondering what gives climbers the best thrill?mine has to be nailing a large top out of a tree into a small space(no lowering ropes allowed).just to watch a large lump of wood break off the hinge and fall into a exacact small spot makes the day so worthwhile it does it for me but what about everyone else?

I agree, that is a satisfying feeling.

Another good one is when the next chunk is cut, it goes end over end, maybe even 1 1/2 flips and lands flat. Jerry Beranek writes about how to calculate the height and length to get that to work out.

Getting referrals from clients feels good too. It validates what I know, that we do a good job.

The best buzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the way my leg loops rub on my inner thighs when I have a 66 ticking over between my legs on the centre dees
just after topping out........

I*m loving it (Ronald too)

Being high enough in a 200+ foot oldgrowth Noble fir to have my head and shoulders above the crown...that blows my socks off! Add a killer view of Mt. Hood and/or Mt. Jefferson and you have a great day on your hands...

A large, tough; limb gracefully turning over 120+ degrees horizontally, then bending down gracefully to it's ownly pathway free, like light effortless ballet of power between line and load, knowing how many things have to be in harmony to pull that off, like it was no sweat; and it all happens natureally, you just have to allow it....

Orrrrrr something like that!

Looking at a long lanky tree leaning over the customers house, and they say , " How you going to climb and take that out "? and I say , " In one piece, and never leave the ground"... And they look at you half frightend and wounder if they have made the right choice with this tree guy ...

I have two good buzzes: 1st) the great satisfaction in seeing a tree that has never been trimmed get trimmed properly. For it to have that 'Clean' look.

2nd) The sound of a large tree cracking as the hinge breaks then CRASHING as it hits the ground. Seeing that gust of wind knock someones hard hat off is also great.

I love having a perfectly exicuted plan go off while rigging. But I have to say, what gets my adrenalin going is showing up at the job site with a work order and instructions on a job that requires a full day,..or two... of rigging, then seeing that tree between houses with multiple targets and hazards and knowing that you can flop it!...That's cool.

Mark, I hear ya that is great buzz. I did that once, nailed the highest crotch in MC on first toss-the crowd roared it was awesome. Problem was i simply selected a bad crotch for working the tree. It was just over 60 ft, when i pulled my 120' ascent line thru both ends doubled hung about 7 ft above the ground. I reached up pulled out the stretch, clipped on, and started ascending, then I realized I was now about to FL 60 ft. and let me tell ya I barely made it. when I got to the top I was spent, not to mention i had a poorly located tye in and I still had 4 stations to hit.
Ran out of time on that one, but I was the talk of the event after making that nearly impossible toss.
Next time i shoot lower

Throwing up the throwline, seeing that it's not going to hit the crotch you wanted, then having it ricochet of a branch...right into the crotch you were aiming for!

love
