Alright, my second video.

This is with our Palfinger k-boom truck.

One blue spruce and two Leylands to remove. small to mid-size trees.

Not exciting, but might show some k-boom stuff for those interested in k-booms.

basic k-boom tree removals on youtube.

I will post more and more exciting k-boom tree removals. This one was short to edit, so I just banged it out quickly. I will post big trees with spider leg rigging and all that good stuff in time.

Later,

ok that was practical! i like it
My one question for all of you knuckleboomers w big trucks.
How many issues do you have w broken concrete Etc? do you fix it if you break it? do have a hold harmless for it? I have a small boom on a small truck. I am looking to go bigger in the spring and I am just looking at some of the drawbacks of a large truck. SOme insights would be great

Plywood Plywood Plywood

That was my first thought when I saw the vid.
I would have doubled up a road going up the driveway. 99% of the time if our crane goes out so does the plywood and alturnamat trailer.

Very rarely does something get broken with the plywood as opposed to the times I thought I didn't need it and paid the price for not taking the few minutes it takes to set it up.

I can pretty much tell how a concrete drive will handle or not handle the weight.

if it has old cracks or looks like a homemade job or thin, then it will crack and I will tell the homeowner ahead of time. Lots of time, they say it will be getting redone soon anyway and go ahead.

A proper thickness driveway, say 6+ inches thick with plenty of joints, does not crack.

Never run next to the edge of course. on concrete or asphult.

Sidewalks crack, so we put down double altura mats.

this truck is 21,000lbs in the front tires, 20,000 in the whole rear.

I think the very wide front tires really helps not crack stuff too.

yes, our estimate write ups (like many companies) state, we are not responsible for cracked or sunken driveways.

But if I ever did do that, and the customer was upset, I would fix it anyway.

I had to do a patch on asphult one time due to a front tire sinking in a thin spot. I think I bought that cold patch stuff from home depot and tamped it flat.

(my e-mail is not working at the moment by the way, my stupid web-site server has changed some things and we are trying to get things fixed.)
