Bandit 200 XP Tier 4 122.5 hp Perkins’s diesel Good or bad idea?

Been here a while
I have a chance to grab one of these for a pretty good deal but I’ve hard mixed reviews about this motor on these machines. What I’ve heard is that the motor might be oversized for the machine which means that it doesn’t get hot enough to do the regen which causes problems with the emissions system. Also, apparently Perkins is the only place that you can take the machine if it throws a code and goes into limp mode. Anybody else have experience with these machines with this engine?

Should I just buy new with a gas motor to avoid issues? Or buy an older machine with a Tier 3?

I have no known experience with that engine, and certainly not on that machine. However, that is the size engine I would want on that size machine if I were to buy one. If it’s not running hot enough, chip some bigger wood on occasion. Also, don’t just start it, chip, and shut it off - leave it run some and it will do better.
