Bald eagle

For the past 2 seasons, spring and fall, a pair of Bald eagles passes through our area and lake for a few weeks. They prey on American Coots, which number in the hundreds.
This morning the Coots were swimming in a flock, which told me the eagles were nearby. Sure enough, the eagle came swopping down to try and snatch a coot. After a few failed attempts, it flew over and landed in out front yard, I managed to get a pic of it while perched.

That would be fun to watch! There is an eagles nest right off the highway I take to work, it is a highlight of my day to see the eagles working and sitting in their nest twice a day.

I bet if you didn't have that deadwood the eagle wouldn't of landed there.
