Well she's all done. Been ready and in use for awhile, but just haven't gotten around to posting finished product. I'd like to get some toolboxes under the bed and a few other little things, but she's operational.
Previously mentioned, but quick recap: 1990 4x4 Mitsubishi 4cyl diesel standard with 54k original miles. I pulled the bed off, had it sandblasted and plated inside and out on the gooseneck areas of the frame which are present on the 4x4 models. Extended frame slightly and put the plate on the back. Bed is custom and the two tier follows the gooseneck. Exhaust had to be customized after new bed wouldn't allow for existing situation to be put back on...Cab floors were completely rotten I had them completely cut out and redone custom. Thankfully had a buddy who was willing to do it. Did a mint job had to custom make the rockers etc as well, can't even tell. You can see the pockets on the back of the bed for the ramps to securely fall into, which is very important because the ramps sit at a pretty steep angle. Just have to go nice and easy and it works fine.
Been running around doing some solo no clean up work with it from time to time and it's just awesome. Smiling the whole time. Also if chipping on site you can bring just one rig, as seen in one of the photos it tows my 1890 (about 9000lbs). Certainly feels hills big time. Brakes in good shape on chipper otherwise it'd be dangerous..
She really turns a lot of heads on the street, especially if a tree company sees you rolling by.
I have another mount for mini skid between cab of my international and dump body, which is more often used. I do have two minis so if we have a big job, one mini will go on the international and another on the mitsu and I can get them both there. Not often, but on the right job it's really mint to have them both.
Cheers
