Back Up Saddle???

How many of you have a back saddle in cse something goes wrong on the one you work on???

I have a B'Fly II that is in great shape that I am thinking of selling!

I keep a petzl navahoe bod for a backup and I use it in the bucket truck for fall arrest and when I have to climb out of the bucket.

I always have a back up saddle.

Tons of reasons why it's a good idea. Only one reason why it isn't. Price.

Money doesn't grow on trees, but oddly enough if you can't climb trees because your single saddle is busted then you won't make a dime

You know family has a treemotion fetish so he probly has about 5 backup saddles.

Mine would have to be a piece of rope. I can make a rope saddle with a sliding bridge and everything. A little rough on comfort so I will stick with my treemotion.

The tree biz kinda demands two of everything. I remember the day my wife (finally) came to my shop... she discovered I have 12 chainsaws. (4 200t, 3 372's, 2 395, a few odd old husky's) - Don't tell her the harness cost $500! p.s. Diesel fuel still costs the most!

1 backup saddle
5 backup ropes
1 backup tophandle
1 backup rigging line
a dozen off backup biners

0 backup climber like me :-)

you can get all the backups right but you still have 1 live. Don't play with that. Climb safe no need for backup's

I have two saddles for different purposes a BFII for general prunning and removals and a new tribe tengu for cabling and playing. So I guess i do keep a back up saddle but never considered it a backup just different tools for different jobs.
