Back in the Saddle

I started climbing again after my injury. This was an awesome tree to start with. 2 Oaks over a green on a golf course.

It was all rope work. No truck crane access. I dug this back out of retirement.

Those are great pictures..please show more...is that a Portawrap? Why did you have to use it? Would just dropping the pieces damage the course?

No hole in ones!! /forum/images/graemlins/applaudit.gifThe stump was 5' on the half in the pics.

That was an earlier Hobbs ratcheting drum. I used it over my porta wrap because of the weight of pieces. It gives a much greater bend ratio with trhe rope. The cones in the picture are on a valve box for the sprinklers and the green is right under the tree.

Awesome job! /forum/images/graemlins/applaudit.gif Did you have to cut that nothcth for you gcrs becuase it would slip from the root flare?

Demo..Mostly to get a flat surface to mount to but it also keeps it from sliding. It wasnt a GRCS but would love to get one in my stocking this year.... anyone....Santa! /forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Mark, glad to hear you're climbin again. It will be a very Merry Christmas for you. I can definitely relate. Couldn't you have made your 1st climb a little more challenging? Take it slow brotha. /forum/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif
