baby naming help

We're expecting our first sprog in november after trying for 3 years we hit the jackpot.Thing is we have no idea what to name it , dont know if its a he or she. Maybee a name conected to trees would be nice (not ivy) we quite like rowen but we have a friend called that ,so i thought i'd see what you guys could add to our list. The winner can come and wet the babies head ...

I was told that Phylis, there are other spellings, has a botanical meaning.

When I drove into the parking area for the very first Student Society of Arborculture conference the woman who was directing traffic name was Samara. She said that her parents weren't biology/botanists but they liked the sound of the word.

Be careful that you don't come up with a name that could become a millstone around your child's neck.

Best of luck. The only suggestion I have is to NOT tell anyone what you finally decide on. Very few people seem to have a problem telling you everything wrong with your name choice. Tell them after the baby is born, at that point it would be rude of them to say anything derogatory. This will save you a lot of second guessing! Other than that, you can't go wrong with a classic.

You won't be the only one struggling with that name! LOL.

I don't know. I kinda like Rhys!

We have a Willow (though it's a middle name cause the Mister is a bit of a traditionalist)

And I love Celtic names like Owen (not Eoin) and Colm and a bunch of others. Rowen is very cool, too. We went to the cottage in NH with a pad of paper, 2 pencils and The Baby Name Book to choose our first child's names. It put an end to the brutal ribbing we were giving each other about the names we were picking out!

Wow, very exciting for you. The best of luck! Let us all know what you decide upon!
