ax men

Nonetheless....

Most civilians don't differentiate between what's safe and what isn't either. As long as you get it done without getting hurt or killed and without damaging their property, they could care less if you are a cowboy or knot.

Get a grip boys. Educate the customers. Now they have a clear example of what a lumberjack does and you can explain the difference and why. Look at the vehicle they drive, is it an SUV? Then they probably are worried about safety.

Do we understand what every other profession does for the money they get paid??? Do we see the value in it or question why we should pay them that much when some other guy will do it for less?

You should be educating people about arborists and hack arborists not loggers. (lumberjacks)

education and professionalism go hand in hand. do not act like a hack and then preach about what is right and wrong. just in the company i work for alone i combat that almost everyday

We can't see the show over here, of course, but just to get an idea about what you all were talking about, we watched the previevs, teasers whatever on youtube.
The one with the guy, who lost most of his hand is great:
" what the hell, it's only a hand, you know!".
I just lost the tip of a finger i to my thickness planer (pretty stupid, I know it!) and everytime I bang the stump against something and howl, my apprentice will tell me: " What the hell, it's only a finger, you know!"
