Asplundh Chipper

Location
VA/USA
I just purchased an older Aspludh chipper. I can see the serial number through the paint but can not find a model number. I am afraid if I use paint remover I might lose the information altogether. I do have the Ford engine information. Is there a 3rd party source for maintenance and repair on older chippers? I called Altec and they could not help me. Also, what distance should I keep between the chipper blades and the anvil?

The blade/bed knife(anvil)gap should be as close as possible without touching. What kind of info are you looking for regarding your chipper? I still run an old Asplundh chipper for small removals and pruning work..............it is a great little machine. It is easy on fuel, light weight for towing and easy/inexpensive to maintain and repair.
