Ascender failure?

I have been using the shunt as a back up to my ascender. It works well, slides up well and does not bind. I will try to post a pic.

FWIW, some people say the upper ascender hole is not load rated. It certainly doesn't look as beefy as the lower hole.

Moray notice on the far side of the ascender. There is a piece of HRC hanging down from the bottom (wrench tight) screw link. That HRC is supposed to be up on the gator to add redundency to the whole thing. So if the top hole fails it still has the HRC holding you up. I didnt notice it was hanging down on that photo, I should have found one that was all set up. Sorry
