Nature's Canopy in PA is Donny Coffee's company. He stiffed a number of buyers here on Treebuzz by taking payment for items and never shipping them. He stopped responding to messages completely. He later claimed to have been hospitalized for a serious condition, acted indignant with a number of Buzz members and never made good on the purchases. His user ID was deleted, probably by himself. I am one of the Buzzers who paid for something and never got it. @Tom Dunlap and @GregManning just noting this couple of posts selling high dollar items. Should be watched closely.
 
Having followed Donny's saga from nearly the beginning, I can't shake the feeling that after the bad thing happened, he got deep into opiates during recovery and it got bad.
 
Wow, that is sad. I did not realize there were issues with Donny, I bought a number of things from him over the years and never had any trouble. I did wonder what happened to him, I hadn't seen him around here in a while.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your thoughts and comments on both threads. First foremost, let me say that I deserve every single bit of your thoughts , feelings, and comments. This is the beauty, social media. You can air out all of your frustrations while being different time zones. The other beauty of these forums is that it allows people to post their opinion to everyone, and it also allows for folks that have grievances with individuals to directly message them. Fortunately, I haven’t had to deal with any direct messages because the people that have grievances would prefer to air them for everyone to see, which I completely and wholeheartedly agree with. Let everyone know who the bad eggs are. I also want to thank the folks that assumed I was on some type of bender with opiates. This is news to me.

I figure that at this point I should let everyone that does not know me or want to know a little bit of history behind Donny Coffey, here you go.

I co-authored TCIA’s Best Practices for SRT in Aboriculture. A two year endeavor in which I was graciously compensated $750 for my time, effort and photographs. If you look back at some of the original threads, this manual started as a post right here on TreeBuzz by myself. I also penned 6-8 articles for TCI Magazine, and was a speaker and presenter at various TCI Expos. I traveled across the country to instruct on virtually every discipline with the industry.

Unfortunately , I am not going to air to everyone why I had to take a hiatus. Honestly, it’s not everyone’s business except to people that had interaction with. And again, I would encourage the people that have grievances with me to send a direct message.

For the folk that received countless extremely gracious discounts on equipment from me, I thank you and I hope that you have enjoyed your purchase. I would like to think that the folks who purchased from me were more than 95% satisfied. For the folks that did not receive the equipment or reimbursement during this hiatus, please feel free to direct message me. Again it’s just easy to reply to a thread as it is to click the direct message button.

I just wanna thank you for putting words in my mouth! What I said was that "I can't shake the feeling...", and you seemed to have inferred some sense of certainty from my words where there was definitionally none.

Since it seems tone is not your forté, let me be clear: Your tone reads as snarky as mine does here, and doesn't help you in this situation.

The self-aggrandizing lack of humilty displayed doesn't help me shake it off, but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Genuinely, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours. I am sure your technical skills with trees and words will get you where you want to go, even if you don't have the people skills to match. I mean, that combo worked well enough for me...

Humility does not have to come in the form of social posting with folks that unfortunately I have never had an interaction with. Humility comes in many forms.

I guess you can lead an arborist to some trees, but you can't make him see the forest. You are correct in that humility doesn't HAVE TO come in the form of social posting with total strangers, but given the circumstances, you may want to consider whether or not some humility HERE might go a long way with folks that you HAVE had interactions with.

I have my own stuggles with humility. It take one to know one bud.
 
This forum was the very first online resource that was legit, at least in my eyes. I connected with so many folks, made great relationships, and unfortunately destroyed a few of those. In the next few days, I will be reconnecting with those folks to reconnect and to attempt to make right. Again, thank you for all your insight.
 
You stopped replying to my direct messages about the Edelrid XPE rope. That doesn't leave many options in terms of how to move forward. I also tried calling, emailing your business email, and got no replies. Don't make everyone else in to the bad guy. An apology with a HUGE scoop of indignance and a bunch of credentials that are unrelated to these transactions is BS. I bought from you before and was super happy with my purchase but that doesn't mean you can just take money for nothing. And if there was some moment in time where you went from off the grid to being ready and willing to now receive direct messages about this issue, how did you expect us to know when that shift happened for you? I think the obvious solution to this is for YOU to go through all your DMs about this stuff and make it right with people one by one. It's not our responsibility to chase you down for years and then be scolded for doing so. Whatever else is going on in your life is your business.
