I have a gomtaro and like it. But I really like the smallest straight blade tsurugi for small trees - it fits in tight spots nicely and with cuts great. The gomtaro makes slightly finer cuts...but doesn't fit in tight branches as well. You won't regret having it.

Great point on the knowledge gaimed being the best investment coming out of the days!

I've got the Tsurugi but don't like the handle and wanted a higher tooth count. The blade width was my one reservation with the Gomtaro. I'll see how it performs.
