That’s the Sticht Hitch, which can descend on a stationary rope, as long as you’re not in a hurry. I carry a tubular belay device, or figure 8 for long or fast descents. There’s a thread on it in the Stationary Rope forum, skip to the back for better functioning versions, unless interested in its development. This is the latest.

Hey man. Thank you very much for the welcoming. I appreciate it. Im just starting to get into srt. I have the hh2. Tried the rope wrench which i like alot. But wanted the hh2 because doing spar work you can sinch it right to the spar taking pressure off your spurs its nice. Then had to find a retrievable anchor. Whi ch i use a butterfly and a quckie or pinto pulley. But looking for more anchors. So i guess ill search some treads. Unless you have any advice or can point me in the right direction

Short cut to "more anchors" might be Lawrence Schultz' electronic download of info on SRT including various anchors. $50 I believe.

Look for ways to try a piece of gear out before you buy maybe. If anyone is around you using an item you're thinking of - people are usually very generous. Tree Stuff sends duffles of gear out to climbing "parties." You can set one of those up if none in your area. Etc, etc.

I know i wish i could. Im in Watertown ny. And theres no places around to try gear. And i dont know many climbers in my area. Ill look into the treestuff thing. But i doubt theres any in my area. Could be wrong tho. But thanks for your advice. Ive lost a bit of money buying gear then selling it. Sucks.
