Anyone Have Experience With Thumbtack??

I used it years ago, with limited success, but haven’t in a long time. I remember it being somewhere between Angie’s List and Home Advisor at the time.
 
I used Thumbtack for years with success, but in the recent year they have changed their business model. They used to charge about $10 for leads you respond to. They changed they charge close to $50 for leads and charge your account automatically wether you respond or not. Way to much to pay for a lead that 2-4 other companies reply too meaning you dont even get a response to do an estimate. They have become very aggressive in their marketing which they used to not do. I would steer clear of Thumbtack these days.

Oh I know the low-cost / free marketing techniques that go a long way in building your rep and business.

I'm not asking because I was looking for a lead generator service, I'm asking because I've seen people mention it on here and I've seen it in other places and wanted to know what it's about and people's experience. I've heard of other things like HA and Angie's List and was more familiar with how they work but this was something I hadn't really heard about. So I was curious.
