Anybody Want To Chime In on The Trango Cinch

Steve, I don't agree that the gri gri has no shock loading capability. It is a belay device just like the cinch.
I'm speaking up caus I've been using the Grillion for a few years and it's great. Never worry, just lean back.
Of course the cinch is cheaper. I'm considering it for when my Grillion wears out.

I use a lot of things that aren't certified by anyone for life support. I like to use crane lifting slings for my TIP on my climbing line. The 5:1 WLL for basket configuration (which is how I use them) is 12,400 lbs. and amazingly, I have yet to have one fail. I like the Trango Cinch for a lanyard adjuster. I figured it would work alright because I bought it as an assembled lanyard with ISC snap on one end, tight eye on tail end, sold as a "lanyard system". The item now uses the very similar ESA belay device and is still being sold, last I knew.
