Anybody make one yet?

Anyone make a pulley saver yet? I'm testing my own right now and will post pics soon but if anyone else made one I would love to see!

Forget the pic of my own because its the same! I just used Yale Fire and 3/8 stay set for the prussic. I can not get this set up stuck or have it not retrieve. The thing that sucks is that its not approved so competition is out!

I made this for a friend.. similar to the one's on 'treewise'

Craig D's looks awsome too! I feel very inspired to see other peoples pulley saver's come to life and use. Do you remember what was the total legnth of what looks like 3/8 's that it took to do the 10 wrap prussic? I mean without the eys spliced to the pinto yet. Thanx!

Thanks Randy, The prussic cord I used was 8mm Sirius, not sure the exact length sorry, I think it was around 1.7m before I started... Will try and find out though :D

What is everyone using to keep the big eye open? I thought about a piece of a coat hanger or semi stiff wire but I would worry about abrasion or the wire working it's way back out. Any suggestions?

Hey PU climber, I'm preety sure for competition it has to be made by a manufacturer. /Banjo what is working for me is a piece of 4 or 5 mm plastic coated cable that is in half of the eye.

I was thinking about some type of rigid plastic. Does anyone have thoughts on that?

That was my thought as well. As far as cable I was concerned with the way it could act inside the line (abrasion) with out being able to visually inspect it. A coated wire sounds good but the 5mm cable sounds like it would hold whatever shape you want it to which I like. I will do some experimenting when I get home.

I use 5mm wire cable that has a plastic/rubber casing over it, works a treat!

You can get sirius cord from Treetools and probably honeybros

Neither ITCC nor ANSI directly deals with splices or knots. It is in the works however. Lots of debate going on. Each comp has a head judge and techs that will make the final determination as to approval of splices or cordage when there is not a direct ruling from the ITCC or the manufacturer. Best bet, is to splice it as per manufacturer direction, use cordage rated at least 5400lbs (Even some debate there), and use hardware that meets ANSI specs. Bring documentation of the splice cordage and hardware, and be ready to show the techs at gear check exactly how you will be using the gear. And be prepared for someone to disallow it, so bring a backup.

I was thinking of making one out of a double braid and putting a 1/4 inch think rubber bungee chord of some kind. Safer on the rope and easier to get it within the eye. Put it in the core before you put the core in the cover. If that makes any sense.
