Anybody have a buckclip for sale or trade?

take proper precautions when welding galvie
Yes, good note.

When I made mine the galv was removed and vise grips were used as heat sinks...along with wet rags...to keep from melting the harness. Open shop doors with fans to move air. The hook was welded in summer so the shop always had fans going. I wish I would have taken more pics back in those days.

I have used one and it works great. What I don't like about it is what you guys are complaining the others do, grab your rope. I like to use the others for just that reason. When I want my rope out of the way I swing it over and drape it on my saw holder. Seems I am constantly doing that.
We need someone to invent a scissor version that pops out but retracts when you don't need it. All hands free of course.

I have visions of magnets and springs to go with the scissor mechanism
Something in the saw that lets it know the saw is headed that way and it pops out. As the saw moves away it retracts.
Wouldn't help hanging my rope up, but a step in the right direction. Could incorporate a manual button as well so I could use it that way.
Shoot.... My Transporter works just fine the way it is.

I was using the Shembiner on my MB. Loved it. As I started to do crane work regularly, I couldn't wait to replace it, and bought a Transporter. Everything was falling into it at the worst times. Climbing rope, saw lanyard, crane eye to eye slings, brush, .....

The buckclip would have negated much of that except, it wouldn't have helped with one last issue. Descending down to make my cut, in a brushy tree, my saw would get caught up and the lanyard sometimes found it's way out of the Shem. I'm much happier to have a lockable gate.

I'm stream lining my MB 1.0 for lightweight crane flier. When I get an MB 2.0 for regular removals, I'll put the Shem on it. I like the Buckclip idea, and will make something out of flat stock aluminum to fit my MC rope saddle. When bending aluminum it can be annealed, with acetylene, making it easy to bend without breaking.

Great idea with the flat stock @Tom Dunlap

My complaint with the shembiner and the shemxl is: the twisting, sliding, flopping around on the webbing of my MB….. has anyone figured out a way to reduce/eliminate that? Does the Buckclip do that too?

Made this but you can do it with a shembiner I believe. Counter sunk screws in from behind on outside plate. Screw to back plate on saddle. Been flying these for years.
