any XT hitch users in the house?

i recently tried the XT and will never go back to the distel i was using. i find the XT is not as finicky as the VT and sets pretty much every time. the beeline i was using seemed to bite hard with a distel but not with the XT. any feed back about the XT guys? thanks

So you just twist the legs of the hitch before the braids, making it grab more consistently? I remember doing that with some crispy cordage in the past when it would start slipping. Definitely works.

4 of 4. I actually do my "full" braid at the bottom. These pictures show the full braid right after the 4 wraps. You can do the full braid where ever you like you just have to do a sit test before you really climb on it.

I like the hitch it runs like a VT but sets a lot better. It does coil the rope up some but I would deal with that rather than half looking at the hitch every time I sit in it.

5 wraps. I cant count. Speak up if these are your pictures. I would like to give credit where it is due. I always have trouble getting photos sized right so I'm lazy and just archive stuff.

Mark Chisolm on here does a twist like this. I really hope he can post his version. That's right I called him out

I am knocking on the door... Been looking for a new hitch and I will take this one up for a try today. Just got some new prussiks and stuff - need to play around on a Saturday.

update:
Just got done trying the XT. Very nice, like described. I have used the VT only a few times but it slips too much for my taste. XT - tend nice, hold nice.
p.s. - I went with just 3 wraps then braid

I was climbing on the distel for a while and just recently switched to the xt. Love it!! Bites nicely, but tends much better than the distel... Vt was too finicky for my taste. Running xtc and 8mm op, 3 wraps, 3 braids!

Glad to see this all got worked out, I do 4 coils, cross-over, then braids. I use hand tied eyes, 28" of 8mm B-line eye-2-eye. On Tachyon the eyes just make it on the last braid back around to the front to hook into the biner. Hitch/legs always stretches out once you load it so I like to start with everything nice and tight. I'll work slack back up into the coils a little before longer descents or whenever the hitch gets too tight.
