If I need an ego boost I go to Walmart. It transforms me from being hard on myself to feeling like a superhero after meeting the rest of society. If I went to a charity art auction I'd feel like a lowlife. Must be somewhere in the middle. Put me two weeks into a backcountry trip and I can be a superhero if required when life finally gets real. Some of those Walmart people would of dropped off in the first couple days.
