another form of rigging

http://www.logrite.com/gatearch.html i want one so bad i can taste it. most people think only of hanging things and picking up things as rigging. sliding things, rolling things, screwing things is also rigging. take the windlass, its a faster to rig version of a come a long, very simple yet often over looked way to pull to items together; it is based on a screw. a lever is rigging. wedging is rigging. "open your mind; ooopen your mind; ooooopen your mind" creepy alien in total recall

Reg Coates has developed a clever cart too.

Tom, any word on when Reg's cart will be available here in the States?

Sorry Jeff, I'm not trying to disrupt this thread?

almost $2,000...i almost expect it to have a motor, do my taxes, and fix me breakfast every morning for that much.

No way I'd pay that much for a hand cart!!! Thats half way to a used mini...

ok i'll bite. is your cart a log arch?

You're not really supposed to answer with a question, but I'll oblige anyhow. No its a cart.

$2,000 is not halfway to a used mini. I bought a future forestry arch 6 or 7 years ago for like 2,500. I have not put a penny into it since. It only works when I need it too. I love it, I wish it went through gates and flpped upside down like this one, but along with the GRCS I think of my log arch as one of my wiser investments. IT has saved me hours and hours of time, saved my back, and gotten me a lot of really nice logs;. It can also pick up full sized logs that will tip a mini over.

Reg's Cart seems like its more compact and easier to take around. The biggest problem with my log arch is getting it to the job site. It is pretty bulky. This model looks a little less bulky but not something I would bring to every job. Reg's cart seems more like something you would have with you all the time.

I had a log arch from years ago. This summer I broke it out again to get a black walnut log out ogf a back yard between 2 house. Used my mini to pick up 1 end of the log and the arch for the other. Worked like a dream

The thing that I like about Reg cart, is its multiple use. It is not just limited to hauling logs, like a log arch is. As is evident in his video, you can see that it can carry some impressive sized logs, but to me it is the ability of Reg's cart to haul brush out of small tight sites, that really makes it stand out.

Neat looking tires on the arch. I wonder if they're solid or pneumatic. I see this one is already 275 lbs. but I'd like to build one with the walking axle. It really smooths out the ground and gets the most out of human power.
