Tonight I'm working in my shop. The radio is on, tuned to the local public radio station. The usual eclectic music that isn't heard anywhere else.
At the top of the hour I heard the announcer say something about The Doors and mentioned Ray Manzarek's name with some sort of acknowledgement of Ray's contribution to The Doors. I didn't thear the whole dialog so I hit Google and found that Ray died today.
After Creedence Clearwater Revival The Doors were my favorite bands through high school. Kind of an odd combination for sure!
Ray toured with Doors guitar player John densmore. When I lived in Denver I got to see The Doors of the 21st Century, about as close as I'd get to seeing the real deal Ray Manzarek
