Altec Cranes?

Why are (used) Altec cranes selling cheaper than other brands? Are there any reliability issues with them? Also, is there any way to view the load chart online?

You are probably referring to the first batch of 26 ton units, that have been floating around for some time now. I heard the "fit and finish" was not as good as they (the factory) wanted, to structural problems, that were addressed and then the refurbished units were dumped on the market, with no factory warranty. I never got a definite answer no matter who I asked, including the factory sales guy.
You cannot find an Altec load chart....you have to get deep into discussions with a salesman to get one emailed to you. Which I did, 3 times over a couple months, and all three read different! It would seem the company is experiencing growing pains, it has a very solid rep with its other equipment, and I by no means wish to appear to badmouth them. Friend Mike has a new one, and loves it.
