adjustable foot sling

i came across this on Proclimber UK, i rather like the simplicity and clean lines of it...they basically took a whoppie sling and adapted it for a foot sling by adding a leather adjuster band for the foot loop, and a Maillion Rapide to attach to your ascender......neat setup (although i would add a prussick to the Oval for use with DRT) /forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

This is the best configuration for a DdRT foot sling that I know of. It's simple and inexpensive with minimum moving parts. It could be easily adapted as an SRT double (always nice) foot sling as well: Tengu's Tips - Royal Crown Knot double footloop

Slipping a piece of fiber reinforced plastic tubing onto the foot loop part helps to hold the stirrup open.

At the footloop section I would bind an accessory cord just like end whipping. Make it the same width as your foot and it will hold the loop open and increase the loops diameter so it will feel and work better. I know we all have left over cordage in our "too good to throwaway" bucket.
