i always check tent anchors at fairs etc. for ideas, faults etc. i've used this for utility purposes; with very good results. Especially for how simple a construction; to give an adjustable fixed loop! Works on slippery stuff i've tried too.
This is for pulling into the loop to lock, slides when standig tension part is outside the loop so as to be opposite our DdRT in this mechancis. This uses a very simple friction hitch strategy for the adjustable slide.
