Acronyms and Initialism

It seems like there is a new system, device or whatchama-call it every week or so that gets abbreviated or coined to a new phrase . Is there a thread or can this be a place to list them for those of us that can't seem to keep up (maybe it's only me...)? For example - SRS vs SRT - what are the key differences? Thanks!

My addition to this issue was coming up with DdRT to give better definition to our system. DRT is two ropes

I don’t use SRS etc

There are enough people here to help you decide any terms...just ask...using a clear thread title

Thanks - I like how on the first page there is already discussion on what exactly people are saying when it comes to which system is which.

In years past there were topics that would pop up routinely and, like old horses, they'd get beat to death just as routinely:

Topping
Pole saws in the tree
ONe handed chainsaw use
Metal/plastic rakes

Lately the topic that seems to generate the most chatter is acronyms. Kinda funny when the whole idea of using them is to have an agreed upon term and moving along.
