A wooden Audi

Only 75 days ?
I wonder how may days of planning, measurements, supplies, etc.

I live in the snow-belt of NE Ohio.
My 1st Audi was a 1985 5 cylinder, w/ a manual selector (on-the-go) for locking both rear drive wheels; and a 2nd selector for locking both front & rear drive wheels. (i.e. 4-wheel drive)
This was a GREAT car.

The "manual" concept was discontinued because people forgot to disengage it at higher speeds.
With a front synchro locked, the car would "hop" when turning corners.

Still have an A4 for wife but my all round favourite car was my 5000 Quattro S Turbo - we had the engine and turbo worked on and that baby would lay four long strips of burnt rubber at 100 Km + if you dropped it into lower gear - andiamo! And the best - really long, stiff clutch throw so wife didn't like driving it! Heated seats all round made it city comfy and 130 Km/hr on loose gravel and it didn't even float! No wonder quattro's won so many rally's. Even took the lower spoiler off one year getting into ice climbs in the Ghost! So, no, maybe gound clearance coulda been better but you can't have everything . . . . Had my fill of Bimmers and lots of other $$$ tin but still figure ya can't beat Audi Quattro for winter in these parts . . . yeeee hawww . . . . . Happy Presidents Day and Family Day to all.

5000's got a bad wrap for "un-intended" acceleration back in the day.
I don't know the final report(s) conclusions.
My guess is that it was driver error.

I had a 1978 Bimmer (model 2002); but I could not find anyone to do the work on it correctly. Therefore ........ Audi.

I bought my 1st Audi for the Dealer's Outstanding reputation for service, etc.
He was also world known Porsche dealer.
He still sells parts for vintage Porsches world-wide.
