a quite place

There are times that I like quite.

Quite that is undisturbed by nothing more than the wind or the sound of a bird song in flight or perched.

I seek these places out and stay there until I find my needs filled and that special calm that enters my life again.

I know where these places are. Some times it is a river, where I can just float for hours and not see another person or hear a voice. Others it is a hike trail into the mountains near my home. Recently it was visits to cemeteries back home, my birth home.

When back home, I visit family departed and tell of my love for them and how I miss them so.

I am learning that these places are also filled with wonderful trees and full of life.

Here is a gallery of pictures, of stones, monuments to people, Beautiful in their own rights, trees, planted with love and well taken care of, monuments for themselves.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and take a few of your own and share some wonderful places that others might never visit.

Thanks for allowing me to post this

Very nice read & pictures, I like the stained glass work. It does a soul good to get away by yourself. Thanks for reminding to reconnect with myself, I use to go and hike by myself to soak in nature. I haven't done it in quite a long time now, time to start up again.

Beautiful pictures Jersey!

I love the weeping beech and the jap maple..and the rascal leaning on his pet's stone.

I used to love wandering the cemeteries up north (ME and MA). I haven't found any really cool ones down here yet. Maybe I'll take the time to look.

Thanks!
