Warm sweet and tender...

When I took this photo I forgot my mitchell reel and garcia rod sitting on the rock near by. After a while up the trail I realized I had forgoten the rig and dropped my backback of over 90 pounds and ran down the trail at about 7,500 elevation and ran in to a guy going down the trail with my rod and reel (Mitchell reel and garcia rod) I stopped the gentlemen and asked him if he had found a rod and reel on the trail and he said Yes he had and I asked him if it was a Garcia /Mitchell set up and he said yes , nice, was I relieved. No explaining to my Dad about the screw up and looseing his rod and reel..( never did catch a fish on this trip )

The sad truth is I ended up leaveing the rod and reel on the back of a pick up truck that transported us from the pick up to the point of origin. For some reason I left that set up in the back of that pick up. I watched as it drove off down the road. Only to find, our pick up truck had a flat tire . Luckily we had a portable air compressor that ran off the cig lighter that filled up the tirewe also discovered a full ice chest of cold imported beers in he back of the truck after a week in the wilderness. Oh my what a time was had by all in the rejoicing of good times had
expriencing mother earth..

Nothing like it exploring the unknown..

RAPIDLY in every direction. Young trees and old alike are feeling the wrath of the decline. Many trees are dead and don't know it. The spread is most disturbing. Little releaf in site. Lots of firewood and brush chipping to process.

The longer folks wait to cut their dead trees down the more creative we as arborists need to get just to be on the safe side. The dead trees don't stand for long and are also very weak stucturally to dismantle. Always a challenge.
