A green Greenland maybe

In one study done on Greenland the organic matter has been dated to the regional warmth in the middle ages. This was when the Vikings named the place that we currently think of as an ice sheet.

Leiv Eiriksson, the discoverer of both Greenland and America was a Norwegian Viking(Danish Vikings went mostly to Britannia - too cold for the flatlanders in the arctic. Greenland was named this way to make it more attractive for immigrants - mainly from western Norway. The climate was quite milder than now but we are catching up rapidly. The norse community collapsed and vanished sometimes between 1350 and 1400 when the climate changed and the minor ice age started.
Curiously the nearby volcanic island Iceland was named the land of ice allthough it have a quite mild climate - probably wanted to repel immigrants...

Thanks for correcting my history lesson

The Vikings allegedly came all of the way to Minnesota too if you believe the Kensington Runestone.

Not unlikely, I guess they could sail in the longboats in the river and the great lakes. Later research suggests that the stone is genuine but don´t worry, we won´t claim ownership..Actually I´m personally more sorry that they gave up Ireland, I love a good guiness.

There are enough later day Norwegians, Swedes, Finns and Danes who settled in Minnesota to establish a solid Viking heritage. My Dad's side came from Sweden in 1869 to homestead.

I was hoping the Vikings would re-organize, regroup, and set sail again to reclaim all they never should've let go of. From Paris to Istanbul, Minnesota to Tripoli, the subsequent cultures need a tune-up and nothing better to do that than approaching longboats coming upriver.

Just that periodic climate models vs. accelerated events are now distinguishable by minute data and projections are being refined that indicate some serious [censored] coming, but there are skeptics driven by economies that are complicating the course of problem solving.

Clear who and why those skeptics operate, and terrorism pales when applied appropriately.

Back to the Vikings, or even a pirate culture. Much more honorable than anything currently operating......
