I believe there is a 180' pine in PA somewhere. I can't remember what list it was on but it was by far the tallest in the area.

How goes it '020?

Here's the tall tree list for the eastern U.S. as of 2004.

It includes the "Longfellow Pine", a Pennsylvania white pine measured at 180.9' in 2003
Tall Tree List

The amazing one is the 207' North Carolina white pine that was topped by a hurricane in '95. Some tall tree experts think there were a number of white pine over 200 ft. before the colonists got their axes on them. It takes a grove of big ones to reach that kind of height so they can protect each other in storms.

The 170' class tulip trees in NC are no slouches either, looks like Haywood County grows the big ones.

Don't get me started, I wouldn't mind spending the next 10 years visiting some of the incredible trees on this list
